Cracks in the Foundation

How does a nation lose its way and fall apart? Students will pick up where the fall semester ends and study the aftermath of Shlomo’s (Solomon’s) reign. This was the period that paved the way for the catastrophic splitting of the kingdom and the creation of two separate kingdoms: Judah in the south and Israel in the north. Although leaders set policies that will make the reunification of the kingdom a far off dream, the prophets never cease to hope that the nation will find its way back to God and each other.
